remember how there was supposed to be a ceasefire for negotiations in falluja? well, according to the nyt's on-the-ground reporter, it's less a cease-fire than a free-for-all. also check out the marines squatting in refugees' abandoned homes and the soldiers' awareness that the fighters are unified by anti-american sentiment. it all makes for an interesting counterpoint to the administration's current rhetoric.
