commitment schmommitment

i'm fresh out of words for my little 'fake debates' rant, because it turns out that if you write a really long prospectus draft, there will be lots of stuff in it to quarrel with. and after you figure that out, you will cry a lot, and then you will dry your eyes and snark on about pedagogy in the research academy and the lack of a christmas vacation, and then you will go back to work, not stopping at go or collecting $200, because otherwise the sky will fall and/or grad school will last forever.
