we [heart] commodification

anne, who is RAD i tell you RAD, sent me this interview with the australian writer responsible for a polemic on the increasing use of "weasel words" and other sorts of jargon in public life. (Death Sentences: How Clichés, Weasel Words and Management-Speak are Strangling Public Language.) you should read it because (a) it's funny stuff and (b) i think there's something to the idea that "when politicians and public institutions adopt slick corporate marketing language, they are converting us from citizens into customers."
