so. i think that i have decided. i think. that i have decided. for yale. it was really, really tough, but yale, in the end, is the best fit academically. given that, as i noted last week, i actually had a pretty good time there -- cold weather and all -- the social and climatological wonders of berkeley (and ann arbor) can't really outweigh my sense that yale was studying in the ways i want to study.

yes, it was a close decision, and yes, there are drawbacks to yale -- i didn't have any lights-flashing "this is where i have to be" moments during the weekend, just as i didn't have any of those at berkeley or michigan. but that's fine. in fact, i think that any of the three could have been a wonderful choice. but unless something really drastic happens in the next couple of days, i'll be headed to new haven in...let's see...four months or so.
