a man after my own heart.
the article is the story of an nyu sophomore who slept in a library for several months because he couldn't afford both tuition and a place to live. it sounds familiar, if extreme, to me. here is a kid who is liable for his parents' income, but whose parents don't adequately support his education. unlike me, he couldn't get a private loan to cover the balance. also unlike me, his stunt garnered him a free room when nyu administrators found out about it.
good for him. too bad i didn't think of such a thing -- my biggest stunt involved crying in laura talbot's office, which seemed to make her swell with pride rather than shrink with shame, and certainly did not get me anything free.
