wow, what a pile of crap this woman's book is.

i would never in a million years defend the women's magazine industry -- but the very thought of a Ladies Home Journal exec bitching about supposedly left-leaning chick mags sent me into paroxysms of extremely bitter giggles. she claims, as you'll see in the article, that magazine articles playing to women's fears are actually part of a liberal bias.

it's just. so. absurd. as if a hundred million articles designed to make women feel entirely beholden to their personal appearance and their ability to please men could possibly, ever, in any universe, be anything other than conservative.

i'm just confused as to how a thesis this stupid could end up with such a large first print run...i suppose it's probably the katie-couric-bashing.
