i have no words, or at least none readily accessible, to describe the utter perversion that is a constitutional amendment to define marriage. except maybe "utter perversion."

if such a thing were to be passed (and i don't actually think it would, in the end), i would certainly want to leave the country. perhaps i would try seriously to leave the country. and despite my sense that i'd like to get married at some point, i would sure as hell never, ever get married in this country. why are americans like this? what is wrong with us? why do we insist upon treating people this way?
