no shit, sherlock.

i'm proud of these scientists -- including the guy who remembers the nixon years as a golden age at the EPA (!) -- for making some noise about president bush's politicization of science and information. bush's behavior in this respect, from environmental policy to intelligence-gathering on iraq to marriage-as-social-cure-all to "2.6 million jobs this year," goes beyond mere anti-intellectualism and lands squarely in the realm of fraudulent, politically opportunistic fantasy.

the only question is why he hasn't been called on more of it, and sooner.
