Ha. Hahahahahahahahaha.
leading the Times this morning is the news that the unemployment rate has rised to its highest level since April 1994. the following quote amuses me on so many levels:
"We have yet to see the post-Saddam bounce," William V. Sullivan, an economist at Morgan Stanley, told viewers on CNBC.
POST-SADDAM BOUNCE! i love it!
...because we probably haven't entered the post-saddam era yet (whatever that might mean!); because a "bounce" is a flimsy plan for an economic recovery; because...were we really expecting the war to be good for the country? i hope not, because it doesn't look like it's happening.
oh, and happy fourth of july. laurel's coming today, and we're going to spend the holiday in good midwestern fashion -- hanging out at the cabin with the fam, setting off illegal fireworks. woo hoo.
