it's from an article headlined "preaching the 'evils' [yeah, they had to use quotes] of consumerism." which was posted in the business section, of all places.

shockingly enough, the article says that shopping/spending/owning as some sort of mandatory cultural ritual (ok, they don't use those words) makes us unhappy. who knew?!?
