ok, ok...so everyone chided me about posting simply "yay!" about an 11-page article detailing increasing income inequality in the united states. so now i feel compelled to explain myself. basically, yay is for the times actually *printing* said article, for paul krugman being right on as usual, and for his willingness to take a normative stance on how things are going with american capitalism right now (hint: badly). so yeah...not yay, the rich are getting richer and everyone else is beggared by comparison but rather, yay, somebody noticed and said something straightforward about it.

in other news, it's chilly almost all the time now...i haven't worn a jacket during the day yet, but i always have to bring my scarf now. and the trees are pretty colors. hurray for fall and done seminar papers.
