alrighty...last post of the week, i promise. i'm fairly certain the weekend will turn out to be interesting in at least one of several possible ways. parents are coming to town on saturday. should be a hoot.

what else...oh, not a lot. for fun, here is a partial list, in no order whatsoever, of the children's fiction that allen and i talked about the other night. it really made me want to be about nine and not, you know, twenty and a college senior.

cs lewis, the chronicles of narnia
judy blume, are you there, god? it's me, margaret AND blubber
madeleine l'engle, a wrinkle in time, et al.
lois lowry, number the stars AND the giver
elizabeth george speare, the witch of blackbird pond AND calico captive
se hinton, the outsiders
harper lee, to kill a mockingbird
katherine paterson, the bridge to terabithia AND jacob have i loved AND pretty much everything else, too
boxcar children
babysitters' club
shiloh
beverly clearly, ramona quimby, et al
avi, the true confessions of charlotte doyle
esther something or other, johnny tremain
roll of thunder, hear my cry
gary paulsen, hatchet AND dogsong AND the winter room AND a bunch of other stuff
roald dahl, matilda AND the bfg AND charlie and the chocolate factory AND james and the giant peach AND...

i know there were more. and allen was a big fan of a fantasy series involving mice, which i can't remember the name of. but wasn't that fun anyway? what do you think about these ones? what are your favorites?
